What a wonderful night!

About 75 people enjoyed An Evening with the Rugby Cafe Writers at St Andrew’s Church, Rugby on Friday October 3rd. The event was part of the Rugby Literary Festival and featured stories, poems, memoir and music from members of the group.

It was also an opportunity for the group to launch our latest book, Real Lives, which contains the life stories of 17 of our members. There was a book stall and bar, and the evening was rounded off by music from The Scutters, one of Rugby’s favourite bands, which includes one of our members on guitar.

This is the third year we have staged this Autumn event of readings and it is now a regular part of the town’s artistic calendar. Many thanks to all those involved on stage and behind the scenes for making the event such a success.

Writers

Welcome to the Rugby Cafe Writers. We are a friendly group of budding and experienced writers who meet in Rugby every fortnight and share our love of books and writing. We also have a spin-off group which gives authors a chance to get feedback on their works-in-progress. We publish our own anthologies and so far have eight books for sale! Please come and join us. Beginners are most welcome.
