A Story For Every Day Of Autumn is the new book published today by the Rugby Cafe Writers.
The book is an anthology of stories – one for each day of September, October and November. Some are fiction, some are memoir and many suit the season, with tales of Autumn, spooky stories for Hallowe’en and dramatic stories for Fireworks’ Night. Most of the stories can be read in just a few minutes.
A total of 27 members of the talented Rugby Cafe Writers group have contributed to the book which is now available to buy from Amazon for £6. It will also be on sale at various events over the next few months, including the Voices of Autumn evening at St Andrew’s Church, Rugby on Friday September 29th at 7.30pm.
An eBook version has also been added to our bookshop on Amazon.

Here’s an extract from the Introduction to the book:
Welcome to the second of our seasonal anthologies. If you are new to the Cafe Writers of Rugby, allow me to introduce us. We were formed as a group about five years ago. Most of us live in the Midlands town of Rugby in the United Kingdom. We come from all walks of life, with different backgrounds and interests – but we have one thing in common: we love writing. So we get together in a cafe once a fortnight and share our latest work. We often have a Writing Challenge; this might be a theme such as ‘Hope’ or the name of a character or a particular genre such as romance or horror. We try to push ourselves out of our comfort zones.
We decided to publish four seasonal anthologies of stories. The first one was A Story For Every Day Of Summer, which you may have already read. (If not, why not?) This is our second offering. It features a story for every day of Autumn and covers September, October and November. You will find stories on themes such as Hallowe’en and Bonfire Night, as well as those with a more general autumnal feel. Most are fiction, but some are memoir and some are diary entries. Some will make you laugh, whilst others might make you a little sad. We hope you enjoy the selection and that there is something for everyone here. And if you enjoy this book, look out for the next one, not unsurprisingly called A Story For Every Day Of Winter which will cover December, January and February.
